SELF HELP TUTORIAL

This section shows specific tutorial on how to enhance your experience with our various products including DIYs, How-to’s for operating Interactive Toy Concepts product.

1. Broken Rotors? There are replacement rotor kits that you can purchase from retailers to get up flying again.

The rotor systems consist of the center hubs, pins, blades and the outer ring. The combination of the patented design allows for passive stabilization and self-correctness - hence allowing stable flight. The rotors by design have to work in harmony and in complete form. If there is a broken blade or disconnected section, it will not work well and will cause further damage. Replacement rotors are available from retailers or link to ITC shopping cart.

How to choose the right rotors.
We have manufactured a variety of Bladerunner helicopters over the years. The rotor blades are generally following the same design with different sizes in diameter (140mm, 150mm, 160mm, 240mm and 290mm). They all have very good fit and finish for the products they were intended for. Each set of replacement rotor kit comes in a package including the upper rotor blades, lower rotor blades and miscellaneous accessories like tube spacers, rubber stoppers and instruction sheet.

Instruction for replacing the rotors.

Instruction sheets are provided in the replacement rotors set. Each set comes with the top and bottom rotor blades, tube spacers, silicone tubes and miscellaneous hardware relevant to that helicopter.

Replacement Rotors for Bladerunner Series of helicopters rotors are very similar - this specific exampleis for Micro Mosquito and FireFly

Upper Rotor (Cross Member - we call it the hub)

Bottom Rotorwith a long stem (Cross Member - we call it the hub)

Silicone Cap (Cross Member

Tube Spacers (for certain helicopters are in two pieces)

Instructions

Slide the bottom rotor with the long stem (ensuring that it interlocks with the spur gears) down the drive shaft. Slide down 1 of the supplied spacers. Next, slide the upper rotor down the shaft (ensuring the center bore hole is aligned correctly, as the bore is not entirely round, it has a flat surface that looks like a half circle) and then slide a rubber stopper on top of the entire assembly.

If there is extra protruding out of the shaft, then cut the rubber spacer and this will be very useful as parts for the bottom end cap

Still having trouble finding the replacement rotors at the retailer ?

If the retailer does not have the replacement rotors, they can be ordered online at link to ITC shopping cart. A lot of times, a simple replacement of the rotors will get you up flying again and there is really no need to return the products to the retailer. We will ship replacement parts in North America with affordable shipping rates. Other countries, please inquire about shipping rates.

Still can't wait to keep flying? Here is what our customers have suggested in the past for DIY quick fix.

Under certain circumstances, and only applicable to certain damages from the rotor blades, customer can DIY affix a Scotch or 3M tape to connect the two disconnected member rotor blades together. Please check out the following 2 videos of how we have suggested a temporary fix to the Spider-man 3 Helicopter that has suffered from damage.

The type of tape recommended for this DIY tape is Scotch or 3M's semi-transparent.

Note: This DIY quick fix is not intended as a permanent repair to the damaged rotor system and customers are recommended to obtain a proper replacement rotor kit.

2. Replacing propellers for AirRage Micro Fighters and Razor Micro R/C planes

A set of extra propellers are supplied for both the MicroFighters and Razor Micro R/C planes. The two propellers are different and will provide different thrust. It is crucial for customers to determine which one needs replacing - identifying either the left (L) or the right (R). Each propeller is stamped with L or  R.

Click here to watch the video of Micro Fighter Plane RTF F22 Raptor propellers replacement;

To determine which is Left and Right, please look at the back of the plane like the following RAZOR R/C plane and observe the small embossed capital letter L or R.

3. iFly VAMP/WASP/HAWK has a large turning circle, how can I steer the VAMP to turn tighter and still have a stable flight?

As the manufacturer of this innovative flying toy - we are certainly knowledgeable in terms of supporting our customers and suggesting better tips for enhancing your experience. This VAMP/WASP/HAWK likes to fly slow and steady. When you power in full throttle, it likes to climb like bird or bat, the thrust that the wings create is more concentrated in thrusting the body of the product, the steering mechanism is temporarily overpowered. In order to do smaller turning circle (i.e. tighter turns), let go of the throttle to 1/4 speed or half speed and apply full left or right stick controls. You will find that this will slow the VAMP down to a level that allows it turn better.   This is somewhat similar to our car driving experience where speed is counter productive to the ability to turn.

Still want tips to fly the VAMP. Check back with us as we catalogue our customer’s new tricks with this new breed of radio control flying toy.
